One little comment on your procedures. You mentioned that c-sec babies go
to trans nursery for an hour or 2. This first hour or 2 post c-sec
delivery can be the most optimum time to begin nursing. Mom is still numb
from spinal or epidural and will not be as comfortable as she is right then
for the next day or two. With assistance, holding , guiding baby and mom
can get together in post op recovery room. If not to actually nurse, at
least to snuggle. Why should a mom who has a surgical delivery be deprived
of this experience (unless she has a general and is OUT). She just went
thru trauma to have this baby. She deserves to nurse and hold just like
every other new mom. Just my NSHO. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
