Sorry Marimar, I was not thinking straightly when I first posted. I
guess I was concentrating more on the blistex question as one might see
it even with non adoptive moms than on the fact that these are
recommendations for amoms. My own mom adopted her third child at 10
months of age (already used to the bottle, and my mom being 10 years
post nursing of myself, she did not nurse my sister...I doubt it even
occurred to her that she COULD do so.).

I agree that if you're preparing ahead of time for adopting OR for
delivery, it would be wise to go get the lansinoh right away to use
rather than blistex. That's assuming one knows it exists (but given
this forum is talking about it for after one has the child, might as
well suggest it for pumping beforehand too).

As a last add-on to my post about having used blistex once...the
"natural" blistex I have is unflavoured, unscented, and does not make
the lips feel "cold/hot" like regular blistex does (the medicated
kind). I figured that since it was meant for putting on the lips (as
different from putting on a cut on one's arm... ;-)) that it was
therefore not liable to be very toxic if swallowed (i.e. melting off
when drinking a hot drink) so I used my own judgement and used it on the
one occasion that I did.

Back to the website, it makes me wonder if the person has any interest
in Blistex's company. Maybe even their husband works for Blistex or
something...who knows. Otherwise, why mention THAT brand and not
another?

Fio.
