Obviously not quite within the realm of a lactation consultant's usual
recommendations, :) but maybe this mom would benefit from another blood
patch?  Usually if it is effective, the improvement in headache is immediate
and dramatic.  It can be repeated twice (I've seen it done twice and heard
of it being performed 3 times), with an improvement in rate of effectiveness
each time it is done.  Might be worth a shot if the HA is the main barrier here.
