Hi all

Thought you might like to know about one of the infants I posted about recently
whose pediatrican had hospitalized because she thought something was wrong with
the mother's milk even though she could pump 2-4 oz. at a time and the baby was
voiding/stooling fine, and was two oz. short of regaining her birth weight at
11 days of age. The doc had put in an ng tube and was using abm to bring the
baby up to birth wt.

The mother promptly took the baby home as soon as birth wt. was reached telling
the doc she didn't want any more dx and went home to resume totally bfg her
baby. : )

Judy Dunlap sent me a reference, Feb., 1995 (Vol 126,
No 2). It's "Allergic colitis in infants," by Odze, Wershill, Leichtner, and
Antonioli, pp 163-170 for the fam. prac. doc who wanted an srticle to combat
the ped. about the 7 week old with blood in the stool. Thanks for the cautions
about possible intesecception, Kathleen.
