You are facing overwhelming odds if the people where you work go along
with those recommendations.  But, you now have the advantage that
there is lots of literature, but more importantly, much hospital
practice out there that does not go along with what is done at your
facility.  In fact, I think that it can be fairly said that first
drink of water, separation of mother and baby and some of the other
approaches can definitely now be stated *not to be standard of
practice*.

It is up to you to argue the practices are old fashioned and useless
for bottle fed babies, and always been bad for breastfeeding.  It is
up to any opponents to prove that their approach is supported by the
literature.  (It is not).
