< Thanks to Rachel for sharing the reply sent to her from Nestle.
One comment leaps to mind; the USA did sign on to the WHO Code in 1994.>

In Cape Town, we were also under the impression that USA had signed the WHO
Code. I received a multitude of Lactnet digests on 12 March when this
discussion was under way and it would seem as if there is a discrepancy
about this. Surely Nestle would know this fact seeing that it would directly
affect them and their marketing strategies?

Could someone please clarify if the USA is or is not a signatory to the
International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes?

At a recent local meeting of Chief Professional Nurses, Wyeth supplied a
range of advertising products. Wyeth and Nestle have amalgamated in other
countries and I am unsure if this has happened in SA as well. Is anyone
aware of the status here? The WHO Code is not enacted in SA but the
companies were signatories to it.

and there is still no rain forecast.
