About the surgery, I've found on several occasions that even though the
woman believes that her nipples were removed and re-positioned, they were
not. It looks that way because the incision goes completely around the edge
of her areola and the nipples occupy a different position due to the
removal of tissue from inside the breast. Unless I have seen the surgical
report as dictated by the surgeon and it describes removal of the nipples
and re-application later, I give the breasts the benefit of the doubt. I
see a lot of variation in how the breastfeeding goes, and I am quite
optimistic at the outset if the surgery was performed here in Norway within
the last 10 years, using the most common technique.
