TORONTO (CP) - Thousands of new mothers in Ontario go through unnecessary
pain and frustration because society is playing a "cruel joke" by telling
them to breastfeed their babies without giving them proper training, some
health professionals charged Monday. 

Doctors, nurses and others who advocate breastfeeding exclusively until a
baby is at least six months old say the government must introduce a
provincewide strategy to replace the current patchwork of services offered
to new moms.
