Any words of wisdom?  I am going to be teaching a mandatory breastfeeding
class for the nurses on our unit.  We generally do well, but we have had
several new nurses hired, with several years experience in standard USA
hospitals, and they seem to think they know what is best, have always known
what's best (or they wouldn't be good nurses) and think ABM is no big deal
for breastfed babies at night (mom's need their rest and the babe's aren't
satisfied).  Pacifiers all of a sudden are no big deal.  The peds want them
on the unit for use during circumcisions.  The prevailing attitude seems to
be  "if it isn't charted, it isn't done, right?".  This is a critical time
on our unit for me to educate and unifiy the nurses.  Any wisdon will be
appreciated.  Please email me privately.
