Are there any recent statistics that would reveal things about
Lactation Consultants such as where they work (Doctor's Offices,
Hospitals, HMOs, Private Practice) and other things such as how much
they charge, is there insurance reimbursement, how well they are
received, and any other pertinent information.
I am a student in a Lactation Consultant program.  I have talked to
Pediatrician and OB/GYN who both think that there is a great need for
LCs, but wonder who is going to pay them.  I tried to explain the
different avenues available to LCs and their clients, but I was
wondering if someone could give me more specific data.
