While this is indeed sad news, a tragedy really, I disagree with one
statement.  Nowhere in the description of what brought this about did
capitalism play a part.  Doctors being sued constantly, so often just by
people hoping to get a payoff knowing that it is less expensive for the
insurance to just pay them than to defend the physician, is what has
brought us to this ruinous end.  Until we take some strong action to
prevent this misuse of our legal system and stop the abuse of our
physicians, I believe that this situation will only continue to worsen.

What can we, as lactation consultants and members of the health care team
do to change this destructive cycle?  I wish I knew.
