A few months ago Iposted about how after changing midwives three times
because of my VBAC status and HMO insurance. In my 6 th month, the third midwife's
collaborating physicians got a new malpractice insurance that wanted a
prohibitive surcharge for her to continue delivering. I was forced to accept OB care
from a physician. It was an incredibly stressful pregnancy because of this
and I too am deeply disturbed by the climate in which mothers deliver in today.
Women and children are again the victum of the misuse of power and the
almighty dollar. Chris
