I work in a hospital which regularly gives banked breast milk as supplement. 4 
years ago, when I started here , we gave donor breastmilk to all babies who 
received comp feeding. Now, due to a decrease in donors and available milk, 
we give Breastmilk to NICU babies and hypoglycemic babies on the post-natal 
ward. Babies with other indications for comp feeding ( many of these 
indications dubious in my eyes) receive formula. We have a 250 ml bottle of 
donor breastmilk in the fridge on the post-natal ward at all times. It is thawed 
in a jug of cold water on the bench and is subsequently kept in the fridge for 
one 24 hr period. if it is not all used up by then, it is discarded. 
Sad that the days of breastmilk to all comp-fed babies have gone. I bottle of
