"Seen on National TV this AM, an ad for Nestle DHA formula that
included a
pretty yellow banner floating across the bottom of the TV screen, very
eye-catching, ...the banner had on it "The Nutrients Found in
Breastmilk". "

I had the misfortune of leafing through a copy of the mainstream
parenting magazine "Parenting" the other day in a waiting room. there
were so many formula ads (2 full pages each) and bottle ads I couldn't
even count! I noticed that there was much use of the phrase "like
breastmilk" including a graph showing their product to be "like
breastmilk" in amounts of various ingredients, including DHA and ARA,
and that visual and cognitive development were also claimed to be "like
breastmilk". no where in any of the ads was the importance of human
milk mentioned - apparently it is only important enough to compare to
(and to claim equivalency to).

we live in a very selectively "free market" society.
