Gonneke, I guess I communicate poorly because my comment was meant in
sarcasm (not in sarcasm to anyone in particular, just to the crazy world we
live in). My concern is that we immediately jump on one woman who wants to
sell her milk but I see no similiar feeling about a company that is planning
to sell human milk--fortified and pastueurized.

We condemn one woman for selling her milk and probably the FDA or some such
agency is knocking on that poor woman's door right now for "trafficking in
human tissue." But we have no such apprehension about the infant formula
industry for not only holding patents on human milk components but also using
those patents to set up an industry that will devastate breastfeeding
world-wide. If human milk is commercialized, do you all realize what they
can advertise? Not just like mother's milk....it is mother's milk...only
safer...purer...disease-free...toxin-free. How does everyone propose to
fight against such assertions?

So one woman selling her breastmilk seems like a relatively petty concern
compared to the infant formula industry holding the patents to human milk
components and selling it themselves. Gonneke, I am on your side!!! Valerie
