National public radio's Talk of the Nation had a discussion last week or so about the dearth of women op-ed columnists. This was triggered by a woman columnist in California who had written about her frustrations....An editor said that of the "over the transom" (unsolicited) columns on his desk, there was womething like a 7 to 1 bias in authorship, men to women.
We have some very eloquent female people (and some very opinionated female people!) on this list -- maybe someone here needs to get cracking and get syndicated or at least get writing!
Dawn Kersula
(who is currently done with 20/100 pages of her masters thesis on PTSD post birth! and is feeling only mildly opinionated at the moment!)
