I'm just following a few thought processes through from the discussions on
Diana's baby.  Please note that these are just wandering thoughts.  In
regard to the suggestion to stay on the same side for 12 hours....  well we
don't really know whether we are dealing with an overactive MER or
oversupply - and both can be mutually exclusive.  If the breast volume is
reduced in the one breast the milk synthesis will be rapid in it ... while
the unused breast is not being used the mother is getting engorged and
risking mastitis, but in the hope that involution of sorts will
start??  Will this result in an overall decrease in supply??

What if (tsk tsk) she just fed a little off each side - ie breasts both
still fairly full, so milk synthesis slowed, but reducing the risk of
stasis and mastitis.  This might work for the mother with oversupply, but
not an overactive MER.  And then of course we've created a baby with
symptoms of lactose overload.

Any other thoughts on the physiology here?  That seems to be the
physiological way to reduce milk supply to me.
