Actually I see two different issues here. Nikki is really discussing the change of language used with clients and in classes, while Lisa is talking about the language used when we are referring to other professionals. Our language to clients and families should really reflect the normalization of breastfeeding and when al is said and done we guide but the dyad breastfeeds. And if we really look at reflexes and allow the baby the task of using his/her own reflexes their task is to initiate the latch, the mother finds the right place and space and the LC enables or guides 
That may sound simple but we do need to take a far greater hands off approach.
When we do assessments of oral space and use a special tool than we are more hands on and indeed reflect that language whether we call it diagnosing or assessing for the sake of charting and referral.
