I am a non-nurse IBLCE in a hospital setting. Myself and our 2 CLC's were required by the L&D nurse manager to take NRP. We waved the section on intubation, just like all of the Mother/Baby nurses, who are also required to take NRP.

Subject: NRP

I wanted to take NRP (offered in my hospital) and I was told a flat NO
beacuse I am a LC and not a nurse and that since I couldn't put to practice
waht I would learn that there was no need. I told them that I wanted to take
a day off and take the class and they were not thrilled at all. Are LCs not
allowed to take NRP?. Please advise.
