Thanks for this Liz.
Might I suggest to those who are members of ILCA (and I am not though I have
worked with ILCA on a number of things and spoken at affiliate conferences)
and who find the issue of companies who breach the Code being able to market
products via ILCA by using a subsidiary send an email to the board about
this....I will be writing to my org (ABA) about this also (though goodness
knows when I will get a reply, seems it can take years for a response).

Subject: Re: Evenflo and the Code

Karleen asks whether Ameda will be eligible to provide monies to ILCA (i.e
to purchase exhibit booths or ads), since its parent company Evenflo has
announced plans to resume marketing that does not meet WHO Code obligations.

Don't know the answer to that yet, Karleen, because I don't know all the
facts yet. But this will be on the agenda for the ILCA board meeting (which
precedes the conference). ILCA learned about Evenflo's change in marketing
plans just this week, along with everyone else, when they became
public, Decisions about conference exhibitors are made pursuant to ILCA's
Advertising Policy,
