Dear friends,

In my region breastfeeding numbers are of the lowest in the country, with far less than 20% at age 6months. I work parttime as a primary schoolteacher (besides being an LC end lecturer) at a Rudolf Steiner school. There is a greater percentage of biological living and feeding in this population than on the average school. I see children in the 4th-6th grade, so starting at 9 and to or beyond 12 yo. In the years since I work there I've seen breastgrowth in lower grades every year in both skinny and fuller girls (we do not have any real obese kids in our school). The boys don't seem to join the early onset puberty as much, they pretty much all stay children in their looks throughout primary school and into junior. Some girls start breastgrow in early 4th grade, lots somewhere in 5th and only very few in 6th or beyond.

  Warmly greeting,

Gonneke, IBCLC, LLLL, teacher, MOM, gandma2B in breastfeeding deprived southern Netherlands
