FWIW, my younger brother has celiac disease (he's now 29 years old and
extremely sensitive to gluten) and the symptoms of his disease did not
show themselves until he was 2.5 years old and had just weaned.  Up to
that age, he was nursing and eating solids just like any other child and
showed no signs of gluten intolerance.  Right after weaning, he had
chronic vomiting and diarrhea and was starting to show signs of
malnutrition (skinny arms and pot belly).  He was finally diagnosed at
age 3 and recovered quickly when gluten was eliminated from his diet.

Gosh, amazing healing stuff that breastmilk!
