Hi Ann
First I want to say you are doing a great job of making this happen in your
agency and this will help with the ripple effect. I had a few thoughts after
reading your posts about LC home visits:
will the HMO or home care agency only authorize/reimburse for LCs that are
also RNs? This will restrict out some excellent LCs.
Visit in second week may be too late. Many moms will give up by then and/or
suffer very compromised milk supply. I like to get them day 3/4 as I have
seen many at day 5/6/7 who are in big trouble with ineffective bf or
non-nursing and a very compromised supply and breast refusal.
Keep up the good work.
