<Oliver Gillie, the former science writer for the Sunday Times, has
recently written a much more extensive piece, attempting to alert the
United Kingdom to the epidemic of vitamin D deficiency. Gillie's
monograph, Sunlight Robbery, costs 20 pounds in hard copy. For now, it

Thanks, Katherine. I have only made it halfway through this so far but I
find it incredible information that I am going to alert my family and
friends to it. This is a well-referenced must-read! I recommend it to all
Lactnetters. I wonder if it might not even be near the level of "Silent
Spring" by Rachel Carson, who is credited with beginning the
environmental movement.
