Hi, everyone: A quick reintroduction as I have been mostly lurking for some
time. My name is Alicia Dermer and I am a family physician, IBCLC since
1995, working on various levels through my academic faculty position,
membership in the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and Medical Associate of
LLL to educate colleagues and patients about breastfeeding.

Now for the question. I searched the archives and found nothing about this.
I have a mother who wants to use gv on her nipples but is concerned about the
possible staining of her baby's new teeth that are just coming in. I don't
usually prescribe gv for older babies because of the increased likelihood of
a mess, so I have no ideas on this. I suspect that it should be no problem,
as the skin staining goes away. However, I don't feel comfortable telling
her it's safe without any data or at least anecdotal reports. Any
experiences with babies old enough to have teeth? Please e-mail me privately
as well as to the list. TIA, Alicia Dermer, MD, IBCLC; [log in to unmask]
