Do you mean by "cramped in" that the mom is looking for time away from her
baby?

If so, I would suggest trying bits of baby's first solid foods for her time
away. I would reassure her that most babies will begin taking more solids,
spacing out feedings, still needing lots of mom but letting her get out for
a walk, shopping, lunch out or whatever defines her "freedom". I would also
counsel on the ease of taking baby along at this age. And of course, listen
to her empathetically.
