I am an IBCLC who still works as a post partum nurse at a hospital in south
orange county. I am having a hard time getting the night shift nurses to
change their ways of supplementing at night even if not needed. The main
reason for this I think is that they see no difference in breast feeding and
formula, "its just as good". One nusrse recently chose to bottle feed both of
her children so she has an agenda there. No matter what evidence we
provide, they discount it. How can we help change the moms when they
hear "oh just let me feed them a bottle tonight so you can sleep?" from the
nurses?
