Marsha's and Cathy's posts about the rigors if research "in the old days"
made me smile in remembrance.

I wasn't in the medical field then ... but you can be certain that legal
research was just as onerous.  You had to be especially careful to check the
"pocket parts" for recent changes in the case law (as in: if your cited case
had been overturned or modified, your argument was TOAST).  They were these
tissue-thin booklets, about the size of a TV Guide (gosh -- does anyone
remember *those?*), that was inserted into a pocket especially built for
that purpose in the back cover of legal tomes.

For amusement, find someone born, um, after you, ask her if she knows what
"cc" or "bcc" stand for, and why.
