Lactnetters,
I need some research-based information to pass on to a fellow
missionary. Recently a young man in language school with us had to
return home because he was diagnosed with leukemia. He has undergone
chemo and received white blood cells with the result that he is now
beginning remission (a real answer to prayer), but certainly isn't
completely out of the woods yet. I recall reading an article (here or
in JHL?) a couple of years ago about a nursing mother whose older son
had leukemia. She put expressed milk in the boy's cereal each day, and
his leukemia had remained in remission.
This young man's wife is nursing their baby, and I have wondered if I
could find some sort of research-based data to use in suggesting that
she express milk for her husband.
I'd appreciate any suggestions. TIA
