I am really interested to follow this thread a bit more.

I have a sister in law who is TTC at the moment, and recently miscarried, she was maybe a week pregnant following her charts, 7 by periods... very erratic coming off the pill having been on it for over 14 consecutive years. She is 26 years old.

She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism this week and has since started on Thyroxin. Having come from a family where her mother and sister formula fed, and both had chronic PND I am very scared for her that she will follow in their footsteps. What advice would you wise women on this list suggest? Do I explain the risks of hypothyroidism and the importance of getting the balance just right so that she can exclusively breastfeed and also the possibility of her not establishing a full supply of milk?

I have just started my study to become a IBCLC...so I have been a avid watcher on this list for a few months now. I have really enjoyed listening to your experiences.

Blessings,
Rachael
