I have a mom with a 9 mo. old. She developed mastitis in late Oct. treated
first with Keflex x 1 wk and then Diclox. 500 mg. QID x 10 days by other
providers. She called me after that with mastitis symptoms cleared but deep
breast pain continuing. She is on Diflucan 400 mg first day and then 200 x
2wk. with a refill and now at 19 days. Still c/o pain after feeding. Sounds
like ductal yeast and ductal spasm with refill. I have told her to continue
the Diflucan, take ibuprofen 600 every 8 hours and heat or cold compresses
after feeding. Anything I'm mising here? Any other suggestions? Thanks,
Linda
