During pregnancy MS is usually in remission, due to ????, no one knows why exactly. And why cut the baby off from good nutrition at birth when if the mom continues to nourish the baby for the next 6-8 weeks (at least), and she can stop if her MS flares up. Why not wait and see? The drugs used in MS have many side effects, and these drugs still do not have a proven track record. MS pt go many years without symptoms, without the use of drugs, so a wait and see while we give the mom and baby a chance to BF, bond, and thrive is a very reasonable course.
OBs are not MS experts, and in fact, having attended 2 different MS research centers with my daughter who has had an MS dx for 3 years now, treatment protocol vary greatly!
   Just my 2 cents worth.
