Just got back from Acopulco and making a small dent in the Lactnet
digests. Since I'm going in for surgery on Tuesday, I fear I may
just need to delter a number of them.

For those of you who didn't make it to the conference-you were not
alone. Attendance was only about half what they hoped for AND what
they had contracted for in terms of rooms!. As a result, ILCA lost
money big time. The hotel was nice enough to forgive some of the
loss, but there is still a hole in the treasury. I believe they may
be sending out next year's dues notices early in hopes by people
sending theirs in early, they can preserve some of their reserves.
So, especially if you had indicated an interest in out of US sites
in the past and did not go, please consider this way to help out.

What did you miss? Great sessions, a fantastic Fiesta last night,
and of course the possibility of a hurricane today (Sunday)!. You
missed the chance to see a fantastic PR video from Australia. You
didn't learn about a program where babies with facial anomalies
(clefts) have surgical repair in a matter of days rather than weeks
or months and end up nursing well. You missed seeing James Akre
(sp?) from UNICEF doing the Macerina. You didn't learn more about
GER. The fantastic breastfeeding programs in Mexico and Brazil are
unknown to you. Etc, etc, etc.

Must get some sleep so I can work tomorrow.
Winnie
