I called the Lyons Group (the ones who produce Barney) Customer Service
line. After asking my question about Baby Bop (Barney's toddler-friend), I
told them how offended I was that they were funded by MJ. I said that
while I wasn't going to lecture them on the benefits of bf, that they
should look into the WHO code and that these companies were responsible for
atrocities against babies world-wide. The woman was very nice, said she
had bf her kids, and what was the WHO code anyway? I gave a very sketchy
outline and said she could get more information from many organizations and
also online. I think ignorance was behind her personal reaction, but am
not so sure the Company can be excused by ignorance. As an aside, I also
pointed out that no pediatricians I know of would advocate a "follow-up"
formula but say to wean from the bottle by 1 year. Once they are off
"regular" formulas to be on solid foods rather than "toddler" formulas.
