Chris's response to the LaLeche League mom is on the mark. As a former NICU
nurse and current lactation consultant in a hospital it is the stated right
of every person who enters OUR hospital....and I'm sure every hospital has
some sort of pt. rights policy...you have the right to parrticipate in the
care of your child...the nurse should review the nursing care plan WITH the
pt. or parent....it is suppose to be a collaboration. Premis are always on
their own time line...you can't hurry them or they suffer for it. This
mother has rights....she should ask to see the administrator or nurse
manager if she is not being included in the plan of care.
