Janice,
I don't have a lot of experience with meetings such as the
one you describe, but I have written my share of one page abstracts.

This sounds like a wonderful opportunity. Do you have a breastfeeding
committee in place? Putting an official one in place will take time.
Does the committee have to be an official entity or can you put
together something informally among the bf advocates in your
community.

RE: the one page abstract. One page isn't much, just enough for
bullet points. Think about which issues most need to be addressed
in your community or province. These will be considered along with
all other health care issues, so it would be good to connect
your points with health care issues as well. Do you have a sense of
other issues that are being brought up at hearings around
the country? Do you know anything about the politics behind this
review of health care? Addressing some of the reasons for the inquiry
will help too.

I'm sure some of us on Lactnet (myselft included) would be
happy to look over a draft for you, once you've put it together.

There are plenty of one page handouts that people have to get
you started, but this one has to be addressed to policy makers
not mothers or hcps, so the focus will be different.

Hope this is helpful.
