Lisa, I recently worked with a mom with a similar scenario, recurrent mastitis in spite of antibiotics. I called Cathy Liles who reminded me of the nurse in our town who had this same problem and was found to have inflammatory breast cancer. Just wanted to share the reminder to raise the "index of suspicion". Of course, if she had a resistant bacterial infection that was inadequately treated, that would result in recurrence also.
