I'm looking for a lactation consultant who works at a military hospital and has the coding figured out.
I'm using codes specified by the Tricare policy put out in 2015 (preventative medicine) but the coders here seem to be clueless. 6 lactation specific visits are covered by Tricare!

I am the only IBCLC for 100 deliveries per month, 90% breastfeeding initiation rate (yeah), and I will have had 13 outpatient consults this week. 

I am told that the "numbers" do not indicate need for another IBCLC and my 45 - 60 minute consults only allow 8 encounters per day..."that doesn't look like much of a workload". They really do not understand what we do and that inpatients do not get seen when there are so many outpatients.

Sorry, for the rant but it is Friday and I'm taking this time to write while waiting for my 10:00 with twins (who is late).
