I am often accused of being pedantic and here I go again.

This is an appeal for us to please consider our wording carefully.
With regard to the HIV discussion, perhaps we could talk
about "HIV and infant feeding options" and the type of support that
women may require so that they really do have options?

It might also be helpful for us to avoid blanket statements and
generalisations (the second one is really hard). What may be
appropriate in the U.S. may not be appropriate in developing
countries. What may be appropriate in rural parts of Africa may not
be appropriate in the rapidly increasing urban areas. What may be
appropriate in some areas of Gauteng (the most industrialised
province of S.A.) may not be appropriate in others. We really need
to work towards providing women with accurate information, options
and support so that on an individual basis, any woman can make
informed decisions about the most appropriate feeding method for her
child.

I am concerned about the title for this year's WBW "Bf: Best
Investment" and believe that it is not appropriate for us to use here
in this country where HIV/AIDS is still escalating.

Belabouring the point, Lynn.
