I finally got fed up with seeing the ad for Abbott's Night Nurse Nation
every time I click on my MedScape newsletter so I sent my complaint to them.
I urge any other readers of the newsletter to do the same. Here is my
complaint. Ironically, one of the articles was how to report a misleading
ad from a pharmaceutical company.

"As every professional group, such as AAP, AAFP, ACOG, AWHONN, NAPNAP, WHO,
ILCA, and the Surgeon General, have endorsed exclusive breastfeeding for the
first six months and continuing for the first one to two years and beyond,
and there is a major push for American hospitals to become designated Baby
Friendly, I find it disturbing that every time I read your newsletter I am
directed to Abbott Nutrition's Night Nurse Nation, whose purpose is to get
night nurses to give babies formula instead of helping tired mothers to
breastfeed throughout the night in the first few days as they will be doing
at home. Early supplementation with infant formula is one of the major
causes of early breastfeeding failure and lack of exclusive breastfeeding.
I urge you to discontinue allowing Abbott or any other formula manufacturer
from targeting RNs on your website. Thank you for your consideration."
