I'm wondering if I could seek some input from you wise ladies? I have the
mother's permission to post.

This is a first time mom with a galactocele under the right breast near the
breastbone. She had it aspirated one time, but it refilled by the same
evening. A week later she went in to have it surgically removed and nursed
through the recovery. About 3-4 months later it reappeared in the exact
same spot. Mom reports that it is now painful (she's not sure if it's
painful because of the location or because of nerve damage from the prior
surgery). Her doctor now wants her to wean fully before he removes it again
and is afraid that the contents may have crystallized. Her baby is 12
months old. She states she is not emotionally ready to wean and wishes to
let the baby self-wean.

To add another facet to the issue, she has a hard time achieving pregnancy
(Hx of stage IV endometriosis, cervical cancer, and lost a fallopian tube
due to an extrauterine pregnancy in July). They are currently working with
an infertility specialist to get pregnant. Her fear is if she gets pregnant
soon, she won't be able to undergo surgery to get the galactocele removed.
She wishes to breastfeed the next child, but doesn't want to cut it's
nursing time short. However states she does not wish to wait years to have
the cyst removed.

Any input appreciated!
