Hi All,
I need a little help here. I am a labor and delivery RN, as well as a
IBCLC. I was at a awesome birth yesterday at work, put baby to breast,
bonding, breastfeeding beautifully; when the clock struck 1 hour a new
nurse comes in with the eye drops, vit k.... bath etc. I told her to wait
and I would take the heat for not following policy. Well,I did get the
heat. My supervisor said I have to follow policy no matter what or CHANGE
the policy. She said give me references or anything to take to the
committee. So, anyone out there who has a 2 hour policy for using the eye
ointment or references could you please post. Thank you in advance. The
more we learn, sometimes the harder it gets!
