Ann, I would not take a verbal okay... with HIPPA you need to get a written 
consent.

I am facing a similar situation. One of my clients was in a car accident 
with her 2 wk old infant, fortunately the baby was bucked in the center of 
the back seat and not injured and the mom only sustained some brusing. The 
main brusing was across one breast from the seatbelt, so a MD checked her 
out, then referred her to me.
