Hi, All: All employed persons who pay taxes in the USA are footing the bill for
the "free" WIC formula programs. So, WIC formula is not free! I pay for it,
you pay for it, the WIC client herself pays for it if she works, the teen WIC
parent's family pays for it if they are employed. I used to ask my teen WIC
clients if their mothers and/or fathers worked. Most of the time the answer
was yes. I then told them that their moms and dads (and even me!) were
paying for the "free" formula that was looking like such a good deal to them at
the local WIC clinic.
Nothing in life is "free". There are always hidden costs and strings attached.
