I think it is a shame that the mother has to choose between premature
weaning and getting some relief from her psoriasis. I understand it is a
scary medicine with serious side effects possible. Immune suppression I
believe. However, couldn't the
dermatologist (or maybe she can find another one associated with a teaching
hospital?) collaborate with Dr Hale (a pediatric pharmacologist I believe),
the family doc, and the pediatrician? The mother can be monitored, her
blood and milk levels, and the infant blood levels. The case study can be
published. A win/win for all.
