The mothers I work with that follow vegan diets are well aware of the
need for B12, and usually take supplements.  I've not seen a
malnourished vegan baby.  I have seen artificially fed kids on the
street with soda or fruit flavored, artificially colored sugar drinks in
their bottles.  Those are not my client population.
