Since my post about the infant with the tongue sucking problem, he did have a
stool with in the 24 hours after discharge. I saw him today and he still
refuses to give up the tongue sucking when at the breast. He also has a new
trick of falling asleep as soon as the nipple is near his mouth. Mom is very
patient and is not finding the finger feeding to stressful. He did gain 5
ounces in 48 hours by finger feeding so that was reassuring. Still jaundiced
to I'm sure that is contributing to the sleepiness.
