No technical info but I did contact Chele off-list to share my
experience. I've been nursing for a little over 7 years straight now
(I'm currently nursing three kids - two are nursing throughout the day
and a few times at night and the oldest is nursing every 3 or 4 days
just for a couple of minds for comfort - and actually gets annoyed at ME
when he stays on long enough/sucks hard enough to stimulate a MER LOL).
I have always been nauseous whilst nursing. It has never gone away and
it's not just with MER although it's a big wave when I do have one (and
I have usually 2 or 3 MERs in a longer -- 10 min+ session and usually
just 1 MER in a 5 min session). I have just come to live with feeling
nauseous the entire time that I'm nursing. I'm not sure if it's
oxytocin related. How to put this delicately, um, if it were oxytocin
related then wouldn't that also mean that women who are nauseous whilst
nursing would also be nauseous when they orgasm and during labour
(neither of which happens to me -- well I get nauseous right at the end
of labour just before I start to push but not my entire labour and I've
never felt nauseous during sex ever). I do not run across many people
who have nausea whilst nursing and the few I have run into share your
experience, Kimberly, that it wears off over time. Mine never has and
it's much much worse when I'm nursing whilst pregnant since I've got
morning sickness as well.

Margo
