According to what I have learned, the breastfed infant will demonstrate
higher specific antibody levels following immunization than the artificially
fed infant.  This may well be, as Cheryl Taylor White postulates, because
their immune systems are in better shape generally, and well they should be.
But it is in no way a demonstration that they didn't need the immunization.
That is another discussion, and not really one for Lactnet.  What we need to
know as persons knowledgeable about breastfeeding is that when parents do
choose to take up the offer of immunizations for their children, they may
expect a stronger, as in more robust, response to the exposure than if the
child were artificially fed.
