From my friend in Illinois (Mishawn Purnell-O'Neal) who is the co-author of
the article on Vitamin D published recently in Mothering Magazine.

>>>>>>>>From what I can gather from my research supplementation of lactating
mothers with Vitamin D can raise their Vitamin D levels. Also, maternal UVB
exposure also alters the Vitamin D content of human milk but it states that
it quickly drops without further exposure.

I don't have the full reference but it was a Finnish study conducted by
Ala-Houhala et al (1986) that examined the issue of Maternal supplementation. I
will have to look for additional sources.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Dee Kassing also is very well informed on this issue. Dr. Larry Gartner has
spoken on this topic as well in the last few years. There may be some
information on the ABM website or in past issues of the newsletter.
